Maelstrom

Maelstrom July 5th, 1988 – October 5th, 2014

Maelstrom has been Norway’s main attraction at Epcot since July 5th, 1988. It is the only other ride in Epcot’s World Showcase besides Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros at the Mexico pavilion. For most of us Maelstrom holds a special place in our hearts. Maelstrom was the only boat ride to go backwards. When you got to the scary trolls the boat would change its direction to go backwards and it stopped by an opening that looked like you were about to fall out of the ride into the center of Norway. Maelstrom closed on October 5th, 2014

Watch this Maelstrom ride along video for nostalgia’s sake or to see what the ride was like if you did not have the chance to ride it
