15 Best Table Service Restaurants in Disney World

15 Best Table Service Restaurants in Disney World

The 15 Best Table Service Restaurants In Disney World

Let me preface this by saying you should always make your dining reservations for table service dining at Walt Disney World as soon as possible up to six months in advance. If you know where you want to eat do not wait till the last minute because all of these restaurants can book up very quickly. For some restaurants I do mention that I have walked in to places before and gotten a table but that is a risky strategy. Also please keep in mind that this is my opinion however I have taken in opinions from guests and other cast members I have talked to about their Disney Dining Experience.

After you read the list please leave us a comment. We would love to here what you think about the restaurants below and what your opinion is of the best table service restaurants in Disney World.

One final point before we get to the list that I highly recommend is to DO THE DISNEY DINING PLAN! It is so worth it!

This is one of my favorite restaurants as far as atmosphere goes. Don’t get me wrong the food is very good but the Mexico pavilion is the best in my opinion. The restaurant is right by the water across from the volcano. How cool is that? Like I said the food is very good but keep in mind it is also a little bit spicy.Rated: 4 / 5 Stars Click Here To See Reviews For San Angel Inn Restaurante

A guest recommended this restaurant to me while I was a cast member so my family and I decided to try it and now it has become one of our favorite restaurants to visit on our Disney vacations. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is very relaxed. Make sure to get a reservation here because seating is limited.

This restaurant is simply delicious. Some of the best steak I have ever had was here at the Rose and Crown. If you can plan it right get seating for outside at around 8:30 pm. That way you can eat and then watch Illuminations. Watching Illuminations is just that much better while you are feasting on a delicious steak! Be sure to make reservations!

This is one of the coolest themed restaurants ever! You eat in the center of a traditional German village. Polka music is being played live on stage. The food is served buffet style and while I can not pronounce half of what they had to eat it was beyond delicious! The flavors from the dishes here are not what I was used to but they opened my eyes up to a whole new world of flavors.

#9 50s Prime Time Cafe

This restaurant is a blast from the past all right! Set in the 50’s they treat you as if you are family at this restaurant. Calling everyone “cousins”, you really feel at home. The food here is home style like with meatloaf and potpies. The wait staff will have you smiling guaranteed. They make you feel at home and they teas you a little bit giving you a hard time just like family. They also have a peanut butter and jelly milkshake that is worth the trip alone but stay for the food because that is excellent as well!

Make sure to make a reservation a head of time. This place does not book up as fast as some of the others but it is definitely one people go too repeatedly with each visit to Hollywood Studios Park.

One of the coolest restaurants as far as atmosphere goes. You eat in a room that feels like you are under the sea. In this room one entire wall is a huge viewing window that you can see fish swimming around in the aquarium. The food here is very good. Steak and fish is on the menu! Save room for dessert though. This place has some wonderful desserts to choose from! It is recommended to make a reservation here as soon as you can as it does book up somewhat quickly.

One of the most fun and delicious places to eat at Epcot is Teppan Edo Japan. The food here is absolutely marvelous. The atmosphere makes you feel like you are in traditional Japan. Here it’s not just dinner, it’s a show. At a Hibachi dinner they cook right in front of you. Twirling and flipping the food all around it truly becomes a show and what they create is not just food but art. Wait till you see what they do with the onion! Make a reservation!

Want a family home cooked style meal? Want to do it in a restaurant that spins around? Want to eat food that’s actually grown on the “Living with the Land” attraction? Then the Garden Grill is the place to eat! That is right, this restaurant spins around while they bring food to your table! Need more convincing? This is also a character dining experience with Chip and Dale! Fun for the whole family. I recommend making a reservation at the Garden Grill as it is a smaller restaurant and seating is limited.

This Canadian themed steakhouse is one of the most desired places to eat on property. I believe more so for adults than for kids but either way the food is incredible.Talk to anyone who has eaten at this restaurant and they all get the same look on their face letting you know you have to try it.

#3 Boma – Flavors of Africa
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
The 15 Best Table Service Restaurants In Disney World - Boma - Flavors of Africa
Photo Credit: Michael Kappel via Compfight cc
Ever have African food? Me neither until I ate here. Let me tell you it was delicious. I have been back multiple times here now and each time has been wonderfully delicious and unique. The flavors at this restaurant are different then most are used to but they are something worth exploring and expanding your palette. It is a buffet style dining experience and they have 3 different menus that they switch between so there is a good chance that you can eat their 3 times and never have the same meal.

The atmosphere is awesome here as well as the food. This restaurant is inside the Animal Kingdom Lodge. May not be the greatest restaurant for people with kids who are fussy eaters.

I would make a reservation however, I have walked into this restaurant and it was almost empty before so take your chances if you would like but better safe than sorry I say.

#2 Chef Mickey’s
Disney’s Contemporary Resort
The 15 Best Table Service Restaurants In Disney World - Chef Mickeys

As far as buffets go this is probably the best buffet I have ever eaten at period! Even the macaroni and cheese is delicious!Chef Mickey’s is a fun place to eat at because of the atmosphere and it is a character dining experience. All your favorite Disney characters come out to see you. Well the classic characters that is. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto all come around to see you at your table.

Every so often, they begin to play music and everyone waves their napkin over their head for the celebration. This restaurant is located in the Contemporary resort, which is the first stop on the monorail exiting the Magic Kingdom, another amazing experience that you will not want to miss. Be sure to book a reservation 6 months ahead of your vacation. This place books up quick!

#1 Cinderella’s Royal Table

This is number one for many reasons but the focus of this restaurant is that it is actually inside of Cinderella’s Castle at the Magic Kingdom. Need I say more?Ok I will. The food is excellent whether it be for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Did I mention that it is a character dining experience as well? Well it is! While you eat, different princesses come to you so you do not have to wait in long lines to get to meet them.

A wonderful must go to experience! Be sure to book a reservation 6 months ahead of your vacation. This place books up quick!

  1. Honestly I only agree with possibly a few of these. Being a VERY frequent visitor who has dined at all locations at resorts and parks your fifteen seems very off. Obviously it’s a personal opinion but it’s strange that I would literally only include possibly three from your list.

    • Thank you for your comment! I very much appreciate to hear the opinion of others as most of these list are just that, opinions. I would love to here your top favorite places for table service dining at Disney World. Also which ones did you agree with on the list?

  2. I agree with a lot of these, being a family of very picky eaters, and regular visitors some of our must do’s and ones we rotate in are on this list.

Our #1 is Teppan Edo by far the meal we all look forward to the most,
also must do’s each year include Chef Mickey’s.

We occasionally schedule at Crystal Palace, Garden Grill and really are wanting to try more of the Epcot restaurants in the World Showcase that you mentioned.

    • Thanks for your feedback Paul! I think my absolute favorite changes just about every year lol. It was Teppan Edo for a very long time back when it was called Mitsukoshi’s. I still love eating there but I guess it is not my favorite anymore simply because they removed the Steak and Lobster combo option. There are so many wonderful places to eat at Disney World.

  3. What about Be Our Guest???

  4. I like your opinions on dining. Good choices. What concerns me is a somewhat professional Disney blog recommending the dining plan. Anyone who declares it as “so worth it” obviously has never crunched the numbers. Unless you buy the strip steak every meal and the most expensive dessert you’ll always lose. Just save up and pay out of pocket. Suckers pay for the DDP.

    • Your comment is it correct. If you use the DDP correctly it will save tons. Not if you eat at Pinochios for all your meals but if you do character dining and especially if you have children it saves a lot. You are either eating at all Quick serve or snack carts and have never dined at the character or signature restaurants. I can give tons of examples…. Easy. Many not on this list.

  5. We visit Disney quite a bit and I would say I agree with The Garden Grill (#2), Le Cellier (which should be #1) San Angel and 50’s Prime Time. Love all of those. The castle is great due to the visit itself, not the food. We personally don’t care for many of the others listed, although we have not eaten at the Italian restaurant. I would add Cape May seafood buffet (which we thought was way better than Coral Reef) and Liberty Tree Tavern which serves family style. Great food at both places. We try to stay away from buffets after we have tried them once because the food is very similar at every one. Crystal palace, chef mickeys and Hollywood and vine, if you’ve eaten at one, you’ve eaten at them all. Just my opinion of course, but between our visits, I think there are only 10 places we haven’t tried (mostly in downtown Disney) so I’m not an expert but a pretty reliable source.

  6. A very peculiar and incomplete list. Chef Mickey’s? C’mon. There are many splendid restaurants at the resort. That is not one of them. Where is Jiko, Sanaa, Citricos, Narcoossees, Victoria & Albert,California Grill, Hollywood Brown Derby, Monsier Paul’s, Les Chefs du France,Capa, Ohana and more. You need to do your homework. Don’t make a list like this if you haven’t actually been to many places.

  7. I would at minimum swap Be Our Guest with Crystal Palace, and put Crystal Palace in place of Teppan Edo which has become very rote: you can do equal or better Teppan table outside Disneyworld for nicer atmosphere, better cooks, and far cheaper. Brown Derby is still the best in HS: food and atmosphere esp if you get outside seating. Mama Melrose while harder to get to now is #2. Either Tusker House or Yaknand Yeti at AK deserves a place on list at least ahead of Sci Fi and Prime Time. Finally Le Cellier is great steak but too cramped: and you can get a better steak elsewhere for less. We now prefer the new Mexico restaraunt on water always creative food, and cant beat view to Illuminations.

  8. Our number one is Ohana. I am surprised its not on the list. We also love Cape May.

  9. 1. Victoria and Alberts
    2. Yachtsman steakhouse
    3. Jiko
    4. Kona Cafe
    5. Las Ventanas
    Past 5 I’m open.
